Staff Bio - Laurel Bruce, Speech
“Communication is one of the most precious gifts the Lord has given us. My goal in therapy is to support the speech and language skills of my students so that they can communicate their thoughts and ideas for the purpose of glorifying God. I’m very excited to be a part of the GCCS family”
Laurel is a native of Arizona and grew up in the Phoenix area. She attended Arizona State University where she earned a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Science and an M.S. in Communication Disorders. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Laurel has worked as a speech-language pathologist in the Scottsdale Unified School District, where she continues to work part-time. During the summer of 2006, Laurel studied linguistics at the Oregon Summer Institute of Linguistics, a program which provides academic training in the areas of linguistics, translation, and literacy. Laurel joined the GCCS staff in August of 2006.
