Report cards will be sent home at the close of each nine-week quarter. The 4th quarter report card will be mailed to the student's home following the close of the school year. A fee will be charged to replace lost or mutilated report cards.
A mid-term report will be sent home with every student in grade 5 during each quarter. Grades 1-4 will receive mid-term reports at the end of the fifth week of school and optional reports thereafter for only students who are achieving below or markedly above grade level.
Each year the Stanford Achievement Test-10, a standardized test, is given to all students in grades 3-5. Time does not permit students to make up tests that are missed. Every effort should be made to have the student in school during the testing week. The purpose of standardized testing is to evaluate the individual progress of each student for the duration of his or her education at GCCS. These tests also provide information concerning class performance, which help to measure the strengths and weaknesses of our curriculum.
Test results are placed in the student's permanent file in the school office and a copy is sent home to parents with the final report card.
