Team Sports

Grades 7-8 team sports are played with a ten-school competitive Jr. Metro Athletic League and Valley Christian Athletic League. This Christian sports league competes in boys' soccer, basketball, baseball and golf, girls' volleyball, softball, basketball and golf. Girls may also participate on the cheer squad. Cheerleaders participate as a squad the entire school year. Those girls who choose to participate in cheerleading are not eligible to play girls' softball due to conflicting schedules. If a student is placed on probation they may be prohibited from participating in team sports (see matters of Discipline & Middle School Academic Probation in the School Handbook)

An athletic contract must be signed by parents and students participating in GCCS team sports.

Practices will be held after school (time to be announced). Any student not picked up on time after practice will be sent to after-school care. Regular after school care fees will apply.

NOTE: With each sport or activity, there may be some added cost for equipment or outfits such as shoes, dresses, pants, cheerleading uniform, etc. For each Junior High sport there will be a fee for league related expenses.
